Beauty Pie - Makeup Review

A new brand has arrived to the world of makeup - 'Beauty Pie'

I recently tried out some of the products from this new brand and I wanted to let you guys know my thoughts!

Great Skin Foundation - Fair 200

The colour match of this foundation was ok, a little too dark for me but it was ok once blended down the neck. The coverage was quite light but even to start. However half way through the day it oxidised on my face and seemed to cling to dry patches and separate.

Illuminating cream

This was again an ok product however wasn't blown away by it. I find with some liquid illuminators they can make my makeup look obvious and just sit on the skin. The reflective qualities were also disappointing.

Illuminating powder Highlighter

This looked gorgeous in the packaging and how it's displayed however yet again I was disappointed by it. There wasn't much pigmentation at all and the chunks of glitter were quite obvious.

These were definitely the best thing i've tried out from the brand. I love the amount of pigmentation to them as they're not overly pigmented and apply really evenly over the lips. The shade i'm wearing in the photo is 'Cowboy Nude'

Mascara and Eyeliner

I was pleasantly surprised by both of these. The mascara gave nice length and depth to the lashes and didn't seem to crumble which was good. The eyeliner had really good pigmentation and as it was a gel pencil it went on smoothly and I was able to smudge it.

Overall I love the branding, packaging and name. However some of the products I was disappointed in. My favourites would definitely be the lipsticks and the eyeliner.

New Tern Clothing Essentials | AD

Autumn is always a time for change and new opportunities like going back to school or Uni. Having a few great staple pieces makes styling through the season much easier. I’ve teamed up with Topshop to show you all how easy it is to wear a few items in multiple ways. Topshop has always been one of my favourite go-to shops for new season pieces as they're always so on trend. Students get 10% off in store and online which helps a lot for a student budget!

Coordinating your colours is a great way to keep your wardrobe to a minimum. This season I've gone with a lot of blues, and monochrome. I then add in the bright colours with my accessories like the gorgeous red bag seen above. A good pair of black boots are always sure to get you through the colder weather and new term. These Topshop Amy boots are just so cool and instantly add something to an outfit.

Never underestimate the warmth of a beanie! Hats are so essential to the cold weather, keeping the chilly wind away from your ears! The two that I picked out add an edge and street style vibe. I like to wear them about 2cm above my eyebrows and scrunch the bulk under the back of my head giving an effortless look.

Not every day in Autumn is cold, so legs can still make an appearance! The blue t-shirt dress shown above is such a great casual dress. It has a really interesting twisted back, which usually would put me off as wearing a bra would be difficult - but the placement is almost perfect for hiding bra straps! This is a big statement but I think it’s one of the most figure flattering dresses I've ever owned.

Lets take a moment to appreciate the blue velvet puffer jacket. Puffers are creeping back in, and especially this season the trend is to wear a hugely oversized puffer. Any oversized trend I am straight onto! This jacket however isn't exactly ‘oversized’ it is definitely much more wearable than a huge puffer jacket. Definitely pop into Topshop to try one on as I’m obsessed with mine!

Cream/white jumpers are a great staple for the new season. They go with practically everything! Getting into the colder weather, turtle necks are creeping back in - but having your chest covered makes all the difference in the cold. Jeans are also always a great staple for any wardrobe update - no matter the season. These MOTO distressed jeans add a certain grunge to a look and are a bit more interesting than the usual jeans.

I hope this post has helped inspire any new little additions to your new term wardrobe! And don’t forget students can get 10% off in store and online at Topshop!

British Summers Day

I thought I'd make the most of the gorgeous weather today. I've been obsessed with this dress recently which I picked up in a charity shop whilst I was in Wales. The dropped waistline of the dress gives and effortless boho look which I love as I hate being restricted into a dress.

I paired the dress with this gorgeous choker from River Island. It catches the light differently on individual parts adding a little bit of a glow to the look.

The shoes are some of my favourite that I bought from Nasty Gal last summer. They're not the most comfy mules but I just think they're so cool haha! Put gold studded stars on anything and I will be obsessed.
